Update as of May 18, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. CST

We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Abbey Delray community. We learned Wednesday, May 13, that one of our Health Center residents who was hospitalized earlier this month tested positive for COVID-19 and is being cared for in the hospital.

If you were identified as having had prolonged contact with this individual, you would have been contacted and instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days, per the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Palm Beach County Health Department and the Florida Department of Health.

By way of recap, we have one Health Center resident case and two Health Center team member cases of the virus at Abbey Delray. Our team members who have tested positive continue to self-isolate at home. We will continue to screen and monitor our residents, team members and essential visitors for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Additional information regarding COVID-19 in our community will be provided to you when available, as appropriate.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Abbey Delray management team. Thank you for your continued understanding, support and adherence to our safety protocols.

The Florida Department of Health offers further information for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
