We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Abbey Delray community. We learned Friday, May 8, that one of our Health Center team members tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating at home. At this point in time, we have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 among our residents at Abbey Delray, and we will continue to screen and monitor our residents, team members and essential visitors for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Additional information regarding COVID-19 in our community will be provided to you when available, as appropriate.
If you were identified as having had prolonged contact with this individual, you would have been contacted and instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days, per the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Palm Beach County Health Department and the Florida Department of Health.
By way of recap, with this additional positive COVID-19 test, a total of two team members have tested positive and both remain at home in isolation. We have implemented our pre-planned infection control protocols and continue to follow COVID-19 protocols at our community under the guidance of the local and federal health agencies.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Abbey Delray management team. Thank you for your continued understanding, support and adherence to our safety protocols.
The Florida Department of Health offers further information for assisted living centers and preventing the spread of COVID-19.
